Cancer Patient Assistance Fund

A cancer diagnosis can be devastating, even more so if you lack the money to obtain medicines necessary to fight the disease. The FMH Cancer Patient Assistance Fund, founded by P. Gregory Rausch, M.D., is administered by a committee of concerned community members to aid Frederick County cancer patients who need financial help purchasing prescriptions, nutritional supplements, and durable medical supplies. The FMH Cancer Patient Assistance Fund is able to help in a crisis by providing temporary assistance and support to Frederick County patients and their families until a more permanent solution can be found.

The Cancer Patient Assistance Fund is a locally-established and administered fund available to assist Frederick County cancer patients in need. All gifted monies go directly to meeting the needs of patients. There is no overhead, service charges, or hidden costs. None of the money donated to the fund supports salaries, research, education, or a national organization. The fund does not pay physician or hospital bills, because our hospital and doctors routinely donate their services to patients in need. All monies designated to the FMH Cancer Patient Assistance Fund directly assist patients here in Frederick County.

To request more information or to make a contribution, please contact the Social Work Department at the FMH Regional Cancer Therapy Center at (301) 694-5541.
