Clinical Trials are research studies which provide patients with access to the latest therapies while allowing physicians and researchers to evaluate potentially more effective treatment options. Patients may choose to receive these treatments by participating in a Clinical Trial.
Frederick Memorial Hospital and the physicians of Oncology Care Consultants are proud to provide patients access to a wide range of clinical trials. Patients treated in clinical trials often gain access to improved therapies for their diagnosis. Our patients are able to receive their study treatments conveniently and comfortably within FMH's Regional Cancer Therapy Center.
We participate in a variety of Phase 2, 3 and 4 clinical trials that are sanctioned by the National Cancer Institute and that are sponsored by major research institutes, cancer cooperative groups, as well as the pharmaceutical industry.
For more information about clinical trials availability and eligibility, please speak with your physician or contact our Clinical Research Coordinator, Shelley Francella at (301) 668-7043. Additional information about clinical trials can be found at www.cancer.net.
C40502 enrolls patients to one of three chemotherapy regimens: Taxol, Ixabepilone, or Abraxane. Patients may also receive bevacizumab (Avastin). Patients may not have received prior chemotherapy for advanced breast cancer.
This study is designed to treat patients with advanced SQUAMOUS lung cancer. Patients who have not had any prior chemotherapy treatments will be assigned to receive either standard treatment with gemcitabine and cisplatin or gemcitabine and cisplatin with the investigational drug IMC-11F8.
